I am passionate about Holistic Massage, Myofascial Release, Facial Acupressure and Somatic Coaching, not only knowing how supportive, enlightening and rejuvenating the benefits can be on a personal level, but also from observing the positive after effects of therapeutic bodywork on people's health and well being. It's great to be able to provide a calm and restful space, where people can come away from the demands of everyday life and just be with themselves and the experiences that arise in a session. I also love getting to know my clients and it is a privilege to see how life evolves for them over the time we work together.
I trained in Holistic Massage at Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork with Andy Fagg and Sarah Hoare and Myofascial Release at Exeter School of Bodywork with Emma Gilmore. Since then, I continue to attend courses to further develop my skills in this wonderful field of work and receive regular clinical supervision. For the last 2 years, I have been deepening my learning about fascia with a really amazing movement teacher called Ana Barretxeguren, from Moving Fascia. She has an incredible knowledge of fascial anatomy and a real passion for working with the fascial breath. I am also half way through training to be a Somatic Coach with the Somatic School that will really aid in supporting people to explore their inner experience to enable them to be with what arises in a bodywork session and aid in helping them find seeds to move forward in their lives.
I am fully insured and registered with the Massage Training Institute.
Prior to becoming a Massage Therapist, I worked as an Occupational Therapist for ten years with a wide variety of people, in both physical and mental health settings. This knowledge base helps to inform my bodywork practice and aftercare advice.
When not working, I enjoy walking, cycling, swimming outdoors in all weathers and yoga. I am also a painter and enjoy attending and helping to facilitate a local mindfulness group.
